BOHOL COUNTRYSIDE TOUR

The Bohol Countryside Tour is also known as the Bohol Choco Tour. It is some sort of a mandatory tour for those who are stepping into Boholano soil for the very first time. You will see spots which are unique to the place like the Chocolate Hills, which are named so because the mounds of hills look like Chocolate in the summer season; the Tarsier, which is considered as among the world’s smallest primates as well as centuries-old churches and the winding Loboc River.

This tour, which runs for approximately 4 hours, allows you to appreciate what makes Panglao Island unique on its own. It is only in Panglao where you can see the Hinagdanan Cave. You can visit the Bee Farm, and sample its wide array of honey-based products (the squash muffins and the home-made ice cream are the best sellers!). You can also go resort-hopping.

This tour option in Bohol combines the Countryside Tour with spots in Panglao and is ideal for those who want to cover as many spots there are in one day. Start early at 8AM, and be back at the resort in time to catch the sun set at around 5PM.

Bohol Tour Option #4:

BALICASAG FUN ISLAND HOPPING TOUR

The Balicasag Fun Tour packs a whole lot of activities and is an activity that one should not miss when in Bohol. Start as early as 5:30 in the morning, just when the sun breaks into the horizon. This is the time that dolphins will frolic in the water surface. After dolphin watching in Pamilacan, head to the Balicasag reef, where you can snorkel and fish-feed to your heart’s content. The colourful and diverse marine life is jaw-dropping and awe-inspiring to say the least. After snorkelling, drop by the Virgin Island, a long stretch of sand bar where you can wade in the shallow waters.

LOBOC RIVER NIGHT CRUISE

So you’ve seen Loboc River by day. Time to see it at night, complete with dinner. This tour is ideal for those who have spare time and for those who wish to dine away from the resort area. This is also ideal for those who are taking the Panglao Tour. You can start the Panglao Tour in the afternoon, and cap it off with a cruise along the Loboc River at night.

Bohol Tour Option #6:

LOAY FIREFLY-WATCHING TOUR

The Mangroves along the Loboc-Loay river make for an ideal home for the fireflies. On a clear night, when weather is good, those who want to see fireflies may find it worthwhile to travel around 20 to 30 minutes from Panglao. This tour makes for a different experience, and is most appreciated by families based in the city whose kids have never seen lights except those from city buildings and condominiums.

This is a relaxing 4-hour tour, slow in pace but scores high in the “view” arena. Start by having a tour around Tarsier Botanika, located in Panglao Island. Tarsier Botanika is a tropical botanical garden spanning 7 hectares and boasting of 3000 botanical species of plants. End the visit at Tarsier Paprika, where you are treated to a lovely panorama of the Panglao Sea. Stop over at Café Lawis on your way to Baclayon. A souvenir shop is right beside the café, where you can buy native bags and accessories. Else, you can try the delicate ube and tsokolate soufflés. Café Lawis is in Dauis, and it affords a splendid panorama of Tagbilaran City. Finally, visit the Peacock Garden in Baclayon. A luxurious resort perched on a hill overlooking the Mindanao Sea. Spend the afternoon in style while sipping freshly brewed coffee and just taking in the wonderful views.

This tour is open for licensed divers who wish to explore the beauty of the various dive spots in the Balicasag area. Dive spots include the Black Forest, which features green sea turtles and schools of barracuda and jacks; Divers’ Haven, essentially a wall drop and features species like scorpion fish, angel fish; and the Cathedral, with colourful corals, sea fans, and colourful schools of fish. Lunch will be served in Balicasag Island.
