TIPS FOR YOUR TRAVEL TO VIETNAM

Travel Tip # 1: The official currency of Vietnam is called the Dong. While the US Dollar is also widely accepted, it is best to convert some of your Philippine Peso to Vietnam Dong for convenience, especially if you want to get around by local transport or shop in little stalls whose owners prefer that you pay in the local currency. Travel Tip #2: Vietnamese is the official language of Vietnam. When traveling from the Philippines to Vietnam, it is best that you learn a few basic phrases to make it easier to get around and do your shopping or buy your next meal. That said, there is a portion of the population which also speaks English, French and Japanese. Travel Tip # 3: A visitor to Vietnam can easily see that mopeds are the most popular mode of transportation. If you feel touristy, you can try riding the Cyclo, which is a card paddled by a driver as you just sit back and relax. This looks like a cross between a rickshaw and our local tri-sikad. For our tours, we use private transportation, but there are also some which use the cyclo, so you can get to experience Vietnam in a different way. Travel Tip # 4: Do yourself a favour—you’ve travelled all the way from Manila to Vietnam so please skip the regular fast food chains when in Vietnam and discover the wonders of local cuisine. Pho would be most famous, which is a simple yet hearty broth with noodles and meat. One little secret though—coffee in Vietnam is oh so good! Bring home a pack of beans when you return to the Philippines. Better yet, try their Ca phe trung, or the Vietnamese Egg Coffee. Non-coffee lovers will wonder why they are non-coffee lovers in the first place. Travel Tip # 5: Vietnam can be a good jump off point to other countries in the region. If going from Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi is not enough, consider our other travel packages which include multi-country visits covering any of the following: Thailand, Laos, Cambodia. For these travel packages, ensure you have at least 6 full days to spare or more. We will customize your itinerary to fit your flight to and from the Philippines.
