Excited to know if your visa to South Korea got granted?

It takes 14 working days (starting 03 February 2020) from the time of lodging your application with the Korean Consulate in Cebu before your result gets released. Upon lodging however, the applicant (if you apply directly) or the travel agent, like Green Earth Tours and Travel, will be given a small slip containing your passport number and the expected release date. Please note however that the date is not cast in stone and the release may be extended in the event the Consul deems it necessary to further review your documents or request for you to summit other items to help him evaluate your case.

There is a way however to check on your status even before 1400H-1600H of the release date. The passports are released between 1400H-1600H only, but in the meantime, you may follow these steps:

Visit: https://www.visa.go.kr. In case the language is in Korean, look for “ENG” and click on it to get the English version of the website.

Click on “Check application status and print”

On the Type of Passport, choose “Diplomatic Passport”

In the next row, you will be asked to select from a drop-down menu: Application Number, Receipt Number and Passport Number. Choose “Passport Number” and proceed to enter your passport number.

In the next row, enter the information requested from you: (a) Name as it appears on your passport. In our case, our Philippine Passport lists our surname first, then our first name, then our middle name. No need for comma between surname and first name. Input your birthday in the field requested for. Use the calendar tool provided by the website.

Click on the SEARCH button and hoala! If your result is available,  then it will be displayed accordingly. Congratulations if you are approved and enjoy your trip to South Korea! If you have been denied however, fret not as you can still explore your options to re-apply through Cebu. Green Earth Tours and Travel can assist you with your plans to re-apply or appeal your case of a denied visa application. Do note however that approval remains at the discretion of the Consul upon thorough evaluation and is not guaranteed by the travel agency.
